FAQs About Psychoeducational Testing
What is psychoeducational testing?
Psychoeducational testing is a comprehensive evaluation that measures a person’s cognitive abilities, academic skills, and sometimes emotional or behavioral functioning. It can help identify learning differences, ADHD, giftedness, and other factors affecting school or work performance.
Who can benefit from psychoeducational testing?
We work with children under kindergarten age, K–12 students, college students, and adults. Testing can benefit anyone seeking clarity about learning strengths, challenges, or accommodations—whether for school, workplace, or personal development.
Can testing be done for very young children?
Yes. We offer assessments for preschool-aged children to help identify early developmental, learning, or attention concerns. Early evaluation can guide timely interventions and support before a child enters formal schooling.
Do you work with adults who are no longer in school?
Absolutely. We provide psychoeducational testing for adults who need documentation for workplace accommodations, college re-entry, standardized testing, or simply want to better understand their learning and cognitive profile.
Will psychoeducational testing diagnose ADHD or learning disabilities like dyslexia?
Yes. Our assessments are designed to identify conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, along with other learning and processing differences.
Can this evaluation help with IEPs, 504 plans, or testing accommodations?
Yes. Our detailed reports are written to meet school and standardized testing documentation requirements. We can also collaborate with schools to ensure recommendations are practical and applicable.
How long does the testing process take?
Most evaluations are completed in one or two sessions, with a follow-up feedback meeting. Reports are typically ready within 2–3 weeks.
Do you offer virtual or remote testing?
Certain portions of the evaluation can be completed virtually, though in-person testing is recommended for the most accurate results—especially for young children.
